HHHTenacious,
Today is all about clapping. Whether it be AK’s or appendages is up to you, just make sure it’s out of joy.
LIFE IS BETTER
After finally releasing the super duper illness known as Kamaal the Abstract. The man Kamaal Fareed, better known as Q-Tip, has just released a new single (and arguably my favorite tune off his previous album this year the Renaissance) entitled Life is Better. Although on paper the content may seem a bit ‘been there, done that’ish, Q-Tip, accompanied by one of the most soothing vocal qualities of the past quarter-century, Norah Jones, somehow still manage to make it feel fresh. Or maybe that’s just my opinion.
Either way, this tune is bomb.
**Bonus**
Following along the same content lines are 2 underground legends: Del the Funky Homosapien and Tame One (who are also Ice Cube’s and Redman’s cousins respectively) who are gearing up for their upcoming duo album, Parallel Uni-Verses . The song isn’t near as compelling as it could be, but Del is still a monster.
Del the Funky Homosapien & Tame One – Flashback
FOREVER
First you heard it. Now you get to see it.
The ‘Swagga Like Us‘ of 2009. I give you Drizzy Drake, Lil Weezy Wee, Kanyeezy and Em. Fresh off the More Than A Game Soundtrack, Forever.
**Bonus**
For those paying close attention to the last verse, aside from Eminem sounding like he might be back to his old form, you may’ve also noticed 4 characters that’ve been frequenting the HHHT blog for the past little while standing behind him. Yes, that was Slaughterhouse and yes, rumor has it they’re slated to be the next artists on Shady Records. Now I have no idea whether or not this is actually going to go through, but with a machine like Shady/Aftermath behind these four extremely talented spitters, it may mark the beginning of a new era in the mainstream game. A ‘return to form’ so to speak. Anyway, here’s a brand new tune from former Aftermath signee, and the best Latino role model since Big Pun…
Joell Ortiz feat. Novel – Call Me
APPLAUSE
Toronto-based artists LEO37 + Sunclef have been busy boys. First separately touring Canada and the States as a part of the WPBE and Zaki Ibrahim’s crew respectively, then uniting to conquer a 15-date Canadian tour with fellow PPF Housemates, MAGNOLIUS. All self-booked and self-produced, their inaugural run has been so great that, to show their appreciation for the love they’ve received, PPF House has decided to officially release their new single for FREE.

Click below to see the promo vid and click under that for preview and DL.
That’s the word people.
Get it poppin.

HHHTrainwreck,
Let me begin by stating that today is a good day.
Why? We’ll get to that in a second, but first, let me rattle off a few goodies for you.
45
I don’t really know anything about this dude.
From what I’ve been able to gather, he’s a producer from Japan who sometimes goes by Swing-O. He has a new record coming out called ‘Revenge of Soul’ on Japanese imprint ‘Origami Records’ and he’s been featured on more than 100 Japanese albums as a producer, composer and/or pianist.
This track I’m givin you isn’t mindblowing but dammit if it isn’t endearing as hell. He even went and got himself Stephanie McKay which is never a bad look. Lemme know what you think.
45 – I Believe Feat. Stephanie McKay (right click to DL)
Cream
The West Coast must be amped right now.
Nipsey Hussle is gettin plenty of acclaim. Dr. Dre seems to be showing up everywhere again. The Game hasn’t opened his mouth in a while. And dammit if Kurupt & Quik getting together doesn’t just make incredible sense.

This tune isn’t as crazy as 9x outta 10, but it’s classic West Coast Funk through and through. Just check the title.
DJ Quik & Kurupt – Cream (in ya panties)
King For Hire – the reason for my excitement.
These guys are ill.
Shan Vincent de Paul and Derek DaCosta, better known as MAGNOLIUS, are preparing to release their sophomore set ‘MARY MUSTH’ this fall and will be headed out on tour with fellow PPF Housemates LEO37 and Sunclef on a Canadian tour spanning over 20 dates coast to coast this summer. With an impressive touring resume completely without label support that have seen them hit 11 countries, these guys have subtly positioned themselves in a unique niche within the hip-hop realm and show no signs of slowing.
If you haven’t heard (or seen) them yet….they’re quite the spectacle.
And for all the Canadians out there, you can check tour dates HERE.
**Bonus**
MAG & LEO37 in Asia.
That’s Monday Folk. Burn’em if you got’em.
Triple.
…with us.
Sorry that its been a long time but sometimes life gets in the way of blogging. The crew’s been grinding hard and we’re seeing the fruits of our labors now.
Marcus A just launched Waakao! a new information portal for Taiwan. Picking up where +886 left off, this will be the new site to check for information about Taiwan.
Leo37 just launched PPF House and they’re in the process of planning a cross Canada tour to support the releases they have from their roster for this year. Check it out. Click pic for info.

There’s also your’s truly running some Soul Food on Fridays at PS Underground from 8-1030pm. Come through during dinner time and hear some good music. Also the lasagna is absolutely amazing. Im a big lasagna fan and I’ve been disappointed on more than one occasion with the pithy filth they’ve tried to pander off as lasagna at other restaurants. The lasagna at PS is spot on good. Proper layers of meat, cheese and pasta, as lasagna should be made. The music is decent on Fridays from 8-1030pm too.
PS Underground is located at:
B1, #37, Lane 187, Dunhua South road (Donchu area) 敦化南路187巷37號B1(東區)
The party you all know and love is about to hit 10 events. We got something special in store for HHHT9 & 10. Stay tuned. More info to come real soon.
Nike is opening a gallery space called 6453 in Taipei City on April 8th. Mick ‘The Commissioner’ Boogie will be blessing the opening space party and the after party which is going to be held at Primo. You also may see a couple members of the HHHT squad making a special appearance at the gallery opening party.
Click the pic for a link to the facebook event page.
I gave you guys a heads up on 88Keys a couple months back. Seems that his album ‘The Death of Adam’ is doing pretty well and he’s released the video for the track ‘Stay Up.(Viagra)’ featuring the man of the moment Kanye West.
Click the pic for a link to the video. Can’t embed, sorry. Check Kanye and 88 running around in old man make up with a couple porn stars.
We’re back at it.
Peace.
CAP
And as promised…after a bout of Food poisoning, a residual migraine and an evening of cold sweats, I proudly present Part 1 of Joey ‘CRACK’ Russo’s: HHHT6!
As you can tell from this first set of photos, the evening was nutty. A big shout out and thanks to Light Lounge and everyone who came and showed their love for the HHHT Conglomerate. Even though the numbers are diminished, rest assured, the parties will continue to be demolished and daughters all over the island will be in jeopardy of finding Love in a Club.
And well….since it’s Ladies Night, how bout a couple o’ treats…
Y’know B.O.M.B.’s coming out soon cause Busta’s dropping tracks every week. Here’s another potential single for the man. This time he brought his boys T.I.P. and Akon wit’em.
Busta Rhymes Feat. T.I. & Akon – Number One (click flick)
And one from a potential star in the making…Amanda Diva. Although she briefly acted as Natalie Stewarts‘ replacement in Floetry, most of you probably first heard her on Q-Tip’s latest single, Manwomanboogie. Well, I just snaked this new tune from her in case you were wonderin what her solo stuff sounded like.
Amanda Diva Feat. Johnny Polygon – Neon
I’m goin out singing….
Triple.
HHHT Massive, tonight is gonna be nasty.
Simple & Plain.
We, the pre-pubescent Kings of the Futon, will be taking a lengthy hiatus (due to my return to the great white North on some Weapon X ish) and well this foursome (along with Jheri Curl Chest and Sir Sweat-A-Lot) will be rocking our last show together until we get our Police on (the band not the po) and rock you for a cool half-a-billion.
Until then….come out tonight, cause it’s gonna be heavy like John Tenta vs. Yokozuna.

And just to guide you through the steps for tonight….(**notice** zShare’s been acting weird lately, so if it doesn’t work, the file’ll still be on the other servers)
Pre-party
Party-Party

After-Party
K’Naan feat. Mos Def & Chali2na – America
Tomorrow (cause chances are we’ll still be in bed)

Nat King Cole feat. The Roots – Walkin My Baby Back Home
It’s on.

My life for the past month has been completely and unrelentingly submerged in music. Blogging, writing, recording, release dates, tour dates, etc. And as much delight as this would generally bring me, with all the happenings in the world right now, I’m glad I’m surrounded by people who don’t do what I do and keep me in the loop.
Well, today…I’m gonna go watch a news program/read a newspaper/visit a news site and gather the information directly. And if you haven’t in awhile, you should too.
Anyways…that’s my P.S.A. for the day.
One more for Chris Brown…
…and on with the music.
J. Period – Tribute to Q-Tip: The [Abstract] Best
I’ve been hearing little clips from this for awhile now, but it’s finally out and I like it plenty. J.Period has compiled into this one little mixtape not only some of Q-Tip’s most classic verses and tracks but he also includes a gangload of surprises like De La redoing Tribe’s Excursions, as well as Consequence and Kid Cudi doin their own Buggin’ Out. This is goodness right here.
(49 TRACKS! – click flick)
And since we’re at 49…how bout 1 more track to bring it to a nice round 50.
El Da Sensei (REMEMBER HIM!!???) gettin his Golden Age posse cut on with Mike Zoot and one of the most underrated, style breaking groups of all-time…Organized Konfusion (Prince Po and Pharoahe Monch).
El Da Sensei feat. Organized Konfusion & Mike Zoot – Frontline (click flick)
CAP’s at Copa tomorrow.
Marcus’ in Kaohsiung (Roof Park) Saturday.
HHHT….we got you covered.
Triple.
GOOD MORNIN’ TAAAAIPEIIII!!!
Quick question, what’s worse? Video game anger? or Computer anger? Are they the same?
Like, by worse I mean the most infuriating because you can’t actually argue with either and yet, when they’re uncooperative, they manage to stir up more malice and animosity within you than any sibling ever has. Or maybe that’s just me.
All I know is, if I was rich, I’d probably be on my 34th computer right now as the rest lay in a computer graveyard out my top floor window. But I digress, after having some issues with my internet yesterday, I’m back in full effect with plenty of goodies for this Free-For-All Friday.
You like Wu-Tang? I like Wu-Tang. You like GZA? I also like GZA. Here’s some GZA.
GZA – Seven Pounds (remix) (click flick)
How bout Jay-Z? Here’s all his new stuff since American Gangster in one neat little package.
Jay-Z – Prelude to Blueprint 3 (click flick)
And how ’bout Shepard Fairey? The man once known for being behind the Obey campaign is now synonymous with Mr. 44 and change due to his instantly iconic Obama pic — that’s poised to be the next Photobooth default setting next to the Warhol one….(incidentally, I went to the Andy Warhol exhibit here in Taipei yesterday and well….I think I hate him. (click for more)
Anyways…here’s Shepard Fairey talkin bout his Obama flick with Boing Boing.
SOFAKINGLATER is TOMORROW!

Stay tuned for a very special Dilla Birthday post tomorrow.
LEO37.

Shine up your pumps and toothbrush your dunks cause HHHT3 is HERE!
To prepare, I give you some jams that are guaranteed to get your posterior doin the sway as you put on your Saturday Best.
The Godfather of U.K. Grime, leader of Roll Deep and inventor of Eskibeat back with his own brand of hip-house. Off his newest release See Clear Now. Perhaps not the genre defining opus his first release was, but a very solid record nonetheless.
Some new dope from 2 of the worlds foremost authorities on Canibus Sativa, the Cypress Hill General and Heir Gong.
sidenote – if you get a chance to see Jr. Gong live…DO IT!
B-REAL – FIRE feat. DAMIAN ‘JR. GONG’ MARLEY
And finally, some NEW new from ATL’s most recent scene stirrers. If the Coup, Outkast, Sa-Ra and Big Black Lincoln had a baby, they would be Hollyweerd. (Stay tuned for full mixtape DL on Tuesday.)
HOLLYWEERD – I’M SOUL/FIRST CLASS
That’s it for now. Got a ton more goodies for you tomorrow…but only if you come out tonight.
Light Lounge.
See you there.
Triple.
Oooooh…we’re soooo close. I can smell it….and it smells like Deliciousnessess.
Tomorrow IS HHHT3:Taichung Edition…and to prepare, I’ve got a ton more goodies to keep your head bopulatin til tomorrow even’n.
Let us begin with Jumpoff Joe Beezy.
As I previously posted around NYE’ish, I’m a fan of Joe Budden: A smart dude with ridiculous 16’s (although he tends to rock 24’s or 32’s). He’s been receiving many commends for his recent display of logic and common sense, and well, he’s back with some more…this time kickin it towards DJ Vlad on Shade 45’s Lip Service:
And just for good measure, a tune off Budden’s latest Halfway House. The album’s not great, but this is a nice tune.
Joe Budden – Sidetracked
And well, as anyone on the team can vouch, I’m a large Dilla fan. And although I’m usually really eager to embrace all Dilla related products, since his passing, there have been a slew of people getting on Dilla beats that I don’t readily assume would have had the opportunity had he not fallen ill.
The following was another potential case. I’m not Termanology’s biggest fan, and originally wasn’t going to post this, but after a quick run through…the beats are dope, there are some great guestspots and quite frankly, he does a pretty decent job (I guess there’s a reason why he’s Primo co-signed — see previous post). Anyways…some definite Bopulatin on this…nice to have on while you’re workin on stuff….
Click Flick for DL
And finally, in case you wanted to just hear some straight up, dope ass, raw ass Dilla. I give you some more unreleased ish. This time, his collabo with (then Roc-A-Fella Freshman) Kanye West.
Click Flick for DL
Triple.
HHHT Folk…..
I’m just on my way out the door so I won’t really blab too much. I’ll just get right to the goodies.
First up….another BLAZING remix from K-Salaam and Beatnik. This time they absolutely mash the Jackson 5’s ‘Never Can Say Goodbye’. Oooooh….I like this one.
Click Flick for DL
Next…some more New Old demo stuff from Biggie Biggie Biggie off the upcoming Notorious soundtrack. What can I say….he was good at what he did.
Notorious B.I.G. – Love No Hoe (Original Demo)
Notorious B.I.G. – Guaranteed Raw
And finally, DJ Premier’s top 20 Hip-Hop albums of ‘08!
