Make my heart sing. They make everything groovy. Hi-tops actually make my heart sing. I’ve been on a mini mission to find the Air Yeezy’s in Taipei. Its been hard as its a highly anticipated shoe, and Taipei is too far removed from the nucleus of hip for the shoes to be shipped out here. In my mission, my homey Danny from Supreme Kickz put me on to these: Nike RT1 High
Supreme Kickz is dope if your looking for a pair of kicks that you can’t find in stores here. Danny helped me get my hands on a pair of Nike Cortez before Nike decided that the shoe was cool and re-issued it to all their outlets in Asia. Danny offered me these as an alternate to the Air Yeezy. If I didn’t already have a pair of Air Jordan 1’s in black, I would DEFINITELY be buying these.
I think we all at some point in our young lives became acquainted with the book, ‘Where the Wild Things Are’. If not the book the imagery should be familiar to many. Well seems that Spike Jonze is directing a movie adaptation of the book.
‘back in the day, when I was young, I’m not a kid anymore, but some days I sit and wish I was a kid again….’
Sorry that its been a long time but sometimes life gets in the way of blogging. The crew’s been grinding hard and we’re seeing the fruits of our labors now.
Marcus A just launched Waakao! a new information portal for Taiwan. Picking up where +886 left off, this will be the new site to check for information about Taiwan.
There’s also your’s truly running some Soul Food on Fridays at PS Underground from 8-1030pm. Come through during dinner time and hear some good music. Also the lasagna is absolutely amazing. Im a big lasagna fan and I’ve been disappointed on more than one occasion with the pithy filth they’ve tried to pander off as lasagna at other restaurants. The lasagna at PS is spot on good. Proper layers of meat, cheese and pasta, as lasagna should be made. The music is decent on Fridays from 8-1030pm too.
PS Underground is located at:
B1, #37, Lane 187, Dunhua South road (Donchu area) 敦化南路187巷37號B1(東區)
The party you all know and love is about to hit 10 events. We got something special in store for HHHT9 & 10. Stay tuned. More info to come real soon.
Nike is opening a gallery space called 6453 in Taipei City on April 8th. Mick ‘The Commissioner’ Boogie will be blessing the opening space party and the after party which is going to be held at Primo. You also may see a couple members of the HHHT squad making a special appearance at the gallery opening party.
Click the pic for a link to the facebook event page.
I gave you guys a heads up on 88Keys a couple months back. Seems that his album ‘The Death of Adam’ is doing pretty well and he’s released the video for the track ‘Stay Up.(Viagra)’ featuring the man of the moment Kanye West.
Click the pic for a link to the video. Can’t embed, sorry. Check Kanye and 88 running around in old man make up with a couple porn stars.
We’re back at it.
I say hey now. WaaKao. I say what? WaaKao. Damn….
As you may know, I used to work on a website called TaiwanNights…then I graduated to plus 886. Well, that was junior high and high school. This ladies and gentleman is the PHD program
Damn…those girls are WAAAAAKKKKAAAOOO!
Did you hear DJ Charles on the ones and twos? WAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKAAAAOOOOO!!!!
Cap, are those dreads really? WAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKAAAAOOOOO
For now, I’m off to see some beaches and get some sand in my ass. Cheers to all the people who add a little WaaKao in their daily lives.
As I sit here still in sub zero weather (It’s the effin end of March — What the hell!?), I can only dream about the beauty that is Taiwanese Spring: Hot, but not too hot. Shorts for the boys, panty sized denim for the girls. Xue Hua Bing and 7-11 crawls. It truly is Waakao!
And while I have to unfortunately miss out on all the goodness my oral and ocular cavities would be exposed too (not to mention HHHT’s 7 AND 8 AND Soul Food Fridays — Damn Homie) I take comfort in the fact that the crew continues to demolish your calves and shins with the very best.
So, to ensure everyone’s getting their daily dose of goodies, here’s another small stockpile to tide you over.
Ghostface & Doom (f.k.a. MF Doom f.k.a. Zev Love X) – Chinatown Wars
And simply….dopeness from Mos — I was waitin for this.
Finally, some potential for dopeness (and even bigger potential for garbage), N.W.A. might be getting silver screen love. Check it:
“Rap is finally getting the Ray treatment. New Line is developing Straight Outta Compton, an urban drama about N.W.A. (a.k.a. N-ggaz With Attitude), the hip hop group that helped pioneer the gangsta rap movement in the ’80s and early ’90s. The project will chronicle the rise and fall of the rap quartet, founded by Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and MC Ren, whose songs were so incendiary (i.e. “F— tha Police”) they were banned from radio playlists but still sold millions of albums. Then came the inevitable fiery breakup, a grudge match between the former bandmates, and Eazy-E’s tragic death due to AIDS. The film’s producers, which include Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and Tomica Wright (Eazy-E’s widow), and Circle of Confusion entertainment, are now actively searching for a director along the lines of Curtis Hanson (8 Mile).”
Rest people. We get it in.
Yo, if you missed the last 14 deadly secrets with DJ Premier spilling the beans on some of his classic productions then you a, need to get up on this and b, need to hit the rapnerds more often!
There are two more installments of the 14 Deadly Secrets.

There is some funny shit on there so go get that!
This weekend we do it up in the Dutty South with the big mouth!

Top O the morning to ya.
When you’re the rowdy white guy in the crew, then you like House of Pain because they are those rowdy white guys. Of course, everyone knows Jump Around (and remember them dissing Kriss Kross for having a song with the same name out at the time), but I’m going to hit you with a few lesser-know House of Pain/Everlast videos because they were dope and a bit underrated.
On Point (Groove Merchant Mix)
Everlast-What it’s Like
For a guy who’s lyrics were God-awful at times (see below), Everlast comes with it on the middle of this song. Still my jam and I play it frequently if I’m playing an early slot
And a few MPFrees:
House and the Rising Sun (Big shout out to Sun Doobie, but maybe that will get his own post)
Boom ShaLock Lock Boom (Shamrocks and Shenanigans) Butch Vig Mix–When this came out, I was kicking headlights out to that beat all the time. The beat switches in it rock
And as a bonus:
Top 5 Too White things House of Pain says on Fine Malt Lyrics
5. If you try to take it/I’ve got a big shalale/I don’t have dreads cause I shave my head daily (Top O the Morning to Ya)
4. I’m a wood peckin peckerwood/take me out you never could/act up in my neighborhood?/better not my name is good (House of Pain Anthem)
3. I kicks the flavor/like Steven King writes horror/If I was a Jew/then I’d light a menorah (Shamrocks and Shenanigans)
2. You see I’m Irish/but I’m not a leprechaun/You wanna fight/Then step and we’ll get it on/You get a right to the grill/I’m white and I’m ill/descendant of Dublin with Titanic skill (Top of the Mornin to Ya)
1. Peckerwood peckerwood/tell me a tale/please do explain why your skin’s so pale/and your so funky/how can that be?/like a bird in the tree/on the t-o-p (Danny Boy Danny Boy)
Copa Tonight. Kiss them they are Krunk. Do it
HHHT weekend coming up. Dirty South look out
WaaKao ladies and gentleman. It’s been a little long, but busy-ness behinds the scenes is a real good thing. Sometime it’s takes a while to get the campfire going but once it does, the whole forest goes up in flames. Waakao for real.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of having a few moments of free time. Chill time. Relax time. It was nice, especially after two rowdy nights (big up b.monk, bloofrog poker tourney in hsin chu, and the rock and roll circus), playing football and almost being unable to move. I got to catch up on some Internet-related activities and came across an old friend, John Forte. You might remember him from some Fugee-related material from way back. Well, I was a Fugee-head and I loved whatever they did for a while there. Forte released an album that I dug, Poly Sci, and it had a pretty dope 99 loft Balloons sampling single, Flash the Message.
In 2000, John Forte was arrested with 31 pounds of liquid cocaine at an airport. That’s gangster. He got sent away for 14 years and then, for what may be the only good thing of his presidency, George W. Bush pardoned him on his last day in office. F U Scooter Libby. Anyway, the man is out and running. He’s got a blog up at Daily Beast (Huff Post is better Tina Brown), and he’s telling people what happened in his life. It’s a great read and you feel that he decided to pay his debt to society and then jump back into life head first. Go, John, Go!
John Forte “Runnin Up That Hill” from The ICU on Vimeo.
And just a remindeer of how dope the Native tounges thing was at one point, Rumble in the Jungle from When We Were Kings.
And if you are in Australia, consider yourself very lucky. De La is touring on their 20th anniversary of their group with a 13-piece band. Does it get better than that?
New posts each day for the week heading up to the High Heels Dirty South Mini tour. Friday in Tainan and Saturday in KHH. Get down
M to the A
I may be a little behind on these but they’re gold, none the less.
Well worth your time on both vids.

Who’s gonna save my soul?
And oh yeah…

I know people working on clothing, music, websites, flyers, parties, retail ventures, tours. If this keeps up and everyone stays on their grizzly it should be a good spring/summer season.
Here are some goods for your Friday reading pleasure.
Somebody at format mag did their mutha’f’n homework. If you got some time today, go through this post. Im cool with a lot of the pics, but i think there definitely should be some more Outkast in that list, and Ludacris(he’s made some hilarious videos)
Speaking of videos, im not a huge Kid Cudi fan, but I am a fan of eye Candy, and there’s some serious eye candy in this vid, i believe they’re called the Beautiful Warriors. KC aint even in the video, its not the Official video, but its so official.

During my tenure as a Boy/Man, I’ve had the privilege (not always) of spending time with several different types of Ladies. You have your slim, thick, short, tall, feisty, diva, cool, reserved, crackhead, etc.
But I’ve also found that within each category, they break into similar sub-categories. So…being Ladies Night ‘n all, I figured I’d post some tunes for all the ladies in the club.
For that regular Club female who doesn’t like to over do it, but likes it bouncy…
T.I. – Get That Money click flick
For the Female who likes to get slammed but still manages to get home safely…
Cam’ron – I used to get in Ohio click flick
For the female who doesn’t give a FUDGE about life!
Raekwon feat. Busta Rhymes & Uncle Murda – Stick Up Muzik click flick
And for the female who just wants to go home…
Amanda Diva – Heart Strings
Finally, a bonus for the females who love Biggie.
