HHHTiny and Large,

Goodies?  And I ain’t talkin Ciara.

Let’s start with the Large.

Kinda Like a Big Deal

Lemme pre-cursor this with, I’m a big Clipse fan.  Or at least I was.

From Lord Willin’ to the We Got It For Cheap mixtapes to Hell Hath No Fury, I was an avid Clipse supporter.  When I heard that Rick Rubin’s first order of business after joining the Columbia staff was signing the Clipse, god believes me that I was Ecstatic like Mos Def and anticipating more great things from the Virginia duo.

Following HHFN they decided to switch out of their comfortable position with Pharrell and Star Trak and start collaborating with new producers.  Cool. I’m always down for experimentation, especially after you’ve presumably done all you can in a certain lane.  Well, they got a bunch of new cats on deck and released a Re-Up Gang album (which was lead by the doo-doo Scott Storch produced Fast Life) followed by another mixtape with all new production.

They were underwhelming to say the least.

Not only did their pocket and groove fall short of what it had been, but it felt like (especially in Pusha T’s case) that they just got, for lack of a better term, dumber.  Simple words, with unclever metaphores and similes and generally uninspired rap.  Well, since then I’ve heard a couple tunes that got me goin and have shown glimmers of the group I once coveted as the leaders of the new school.

A few months back I posted up one of these tunes featuring Mr. West by the name of ‘Kinda Like a Big Deal’. And well, looks like the feedback was strong cause luckily, someone on the team had the good sense to make this the lead single and avoid another catastrophe like Fast Life.

Anyway, here’s the video.  I’m still hopin for a miracle.

Make You Sweat

So I know Clifford Harris is in prison, but dammit you definitely wouldn’t be able to tell by the blogs.  Every week there seems to be new T.I. songs and videos popping up, and I’m starting to think that he’s on an island somewhere and this is some marketing ploy to up his rep.  Anyway, regardless, homie is or was getting his 2Pac on and living in  the studio cause there seems to be no stop in sight for this cat.

Here’s a brand newbie.  One of the few mainstream cats who can really rap when he feels like it.

T.I. – Make You Sweat

And finally, a dope track from 2 people I’ve never heard of, Embee and Nina Ramsby.

From what I can gather, they’re both from Sweden, Embee’s a prominent hip-hop DJ and Producer (according to Wikipedia) and Nina’s an electronica vocalist with Jazz sensibilities (according to her myspace).  There’s a video and album art for this song, but I won’t be posting either because unfortunately they’re horrendous and I really wouldn’t want those to take away from the dopeness of the track.

So just listen and enjoy.

Embee – Desire to be Free Feat. Nina Ramsby

It’s Wednesday folk.

HHHTina’s, Tracy’s and Tania’s,

Because today is your day, and because I am the Casanova that I am, I give you something from the heart.

A new goodie from G.O.O.D.’s Sa-Ra Creative Partners, and no this song isn’t a tribute to the late, great Eazy E’s double time spitting quartet from Cleveland, but it is pretty thuggish ruggish.

The new record may just be hella ill.  Check it.

Sa-Ra Creative Partners – The Bone Song

Maybe not the most refined ladies man…okay, maybe not refined at all, but he sure shares some similar fashion tendencies.

This is just a fun one over a classic sample.

Cam’ron – Silky

And finally, often confused for 1 woman, but they’re actually 3 dudes from Brooklyn and Cincinnati, the video to an MPfree I linked you with a couple weeks back.

Dope tune.  Super dope.

Enjoy the night folk.

Get it in.

…will get you no where. Whoever said that wasn’t a rapper. Apparently, when you’re a rapper, you can say things like ‘I wish I could f*ck every girl in the world’ and girls will sing along. I’m amazed.

I often talk about Weezy and Drake on this blog. They’re a pretty lethal one-two punch right now. Young Money is the crew that Weezy put together and this is their ode to the fairer sex.

The 4 day weekend starts tomorrow. Fellas watch the video and be inspired. Ladies….its the thought that counts…right?

Young Money – Every Girl

Happy Ladies Night.
’cause we like her, and we like her too…’
We gets it in!

ps. this is dedicated to D2H. Hate on thun.

Ladies, I present to you, your Wednesday night warm-up.

The first night kicks off tonight April 22nd. Im actually paying homage to one of the best parties in Toronto also called Shuffle. The music covers all spectrums except for death metal, classical and country. But hip hop, funk, soul, 80’s, reggae, house and electro are all covered.

If you don’t know about copa, it absolutely, has the coolest secret entrance to a bar ever. The bar is under Famous Larry’s pizza store in the Zhongxiao/Dunhua area, and you have to push the Fanta button on the coke machine to open the door to the bar. Yeah, thats what i just said, you push the Fanta button, the coke machine swings open and then you walk downstairs into the bar. Its really effin cool.

There are going to be open decks, meaning you can bring down your ipod, some cds or some records to play and you can be the DJ for a couple minutes. All in all, it should be a really fun time. This first party will also be the last for Billy Miller. He’s the owner of copa and he’s gonna be taking off for an extended period of time, so if you are in the area, come say bye to the coolest bar owner ever.

Some joints you might hear tonight

Shuffle b*tch Shuffle

HHHTiny Dancers….

During my tenure as a Boy/Man, I’ve had the privilege (not always) of spending time with several different types of Ladies.  You have your slim, thick, short, tall, feisty, diva, cool, reserved, crackhead, etc.

But I’ve also found that within each category, they break into similar sub-categories.  So…being Ladies Night ‘n all, I figured I’d post some tunes for all the ladies in the club.

For that regular Club female who doesn’t like to over do it, but likes it bouncy…

T.I. – Get That Money click flick

For the Female who likes to get slammed but still manages to get home safely…

Cam’ron – I used to get in Ohio click flick

For the female who doesn’t give a FUDGE about life!

Raekwon feat. Busta Rhymes & Uncle Murda – Stick Up Muzik click flick

And for the female who just wants to go home…

Amanda Diva – Heart Strings

Finally, a bonus for the females who love Biggie.

Busta Rhymes feat. Maino, Red Cafe, Uncle Murda, Styles P., Sheek Louch, Lil Cease & M.O.P. – March 9th (Biggie Tribute) click flick

Enjoy folks.

HHHT 7&8 in all immediacy.  Scrub’em up cause it’s about to go down.

Be well world

And as promised…after a bout of Food poisoning, a residual migraine and an evening of cold sweats, I proudly present Part 1 of Joey ‘CRACK’ Russo’s: HHHT6!

As you can tell from this first set of photos, the evening was nutty.  A big shout out and thanks to Light Lounge and everyone who came and showed their love for the HHHT Conglomerate.  Even though the numbers are diminished, rest assured, the parties will continue to be demolished and daughters all over the island will be in jeopardy of finding Love in a Club.

And well….since it’s Ladies Night, how bout a couple o’ treats…

Y’know B.O.M.B.’s coming out soon cause Busta’s dropping tracks every week.  Here’s another potential single for the man.  This time he brought his boys T.I.P. and Akon wit’em.

Busta Rhymes  Feat. T.I. & Akon – Number One (click flick)

And one from a potential star in the making…Amanda Diva.  Although she briefly acted as Natalie Stewarts‘ replacement in Floetry, most of you probably first heard her on Q-Tip‘s latest single, Manwomanboogie.   Well, I just snaked this new tune from her in case you were wonderin what her solo stuff sounded like.

Amanda Diva Feat. Johnny Polygon – Neon

I’m goin out singing….

Ladies, in a chance encounter of the high heel meeting a sneaker, I present to you, their love child. The Sergio RossiXPuma Clyde. Retails for 450 Euro or close to $20,000NT. Thats only a few hours of work.

HHHT6 soon come…

A word that has many meanings, two of them being: eurphoric or intoxicated on drugs. ‘High’ is the word I often hear club owners and managers in Taipei use to describe how the people should be feeling.
‘Make the people feel high’.
‘Well….give them some weed n-word!’ is often my response.

But I digress, tomorrow (Thursday, January 29) night the HHHT crew will be rocking alongside one of the greats in the party scene, Tittsworth. Hit that link to get to all his pages, myspace, facebook, twitter, press, mixes and naked pics.
Tittsworth mixes fast and plays hard. He will definitely keep yo ass shaking, all night long. The last time he was here in Taipei, he played Roxy Vibe. Yes that Vibe, and the night was teetering on madness the entire time he was on the decks. Its one of the only nights where i’ve seen everyone inside dancing. Musically his sets run from booty to electro, to 80’s, to floor stomping b-more, hip hop, rock and beyond. You will smile. You will dance. You will want more.
He’s just finished an 8 city tour of Australia and Taipei is the first stop on the asian leg of this tour which will see him also stopping in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bangkok and Singapore.
Tomorrow night @ Plush its the first stop of the BROKE THESE DAYS TOUR.

You can download the exclusive BROKE THESE DAYS MIX

Check out the article from last weeks VInyl Word.

and the flyer for the event.

Ladies i didnt forget about you. Come out tomorrow night and i’ll give you a Happy New Year hug and a kiss on the cheek.

Real talk.

rihanna-mobo-awards-2007I got a brand new track from Rihanna. Taiwans favorite Umbrella rocking R&B songstress.

This one is called How I like it

Let us know how you like it.
Vodka and Raging Bull

Don’t you feel like shaking an Americans hand and saying congratulations. Why shouldn’t you be proud of your countrys leader. It feels like Americans have something to be proud of. As a Canadian, I’m waiting for the election of a first nations Prime Minister to reset the balance there.

Anyways, on to the ladies. Like the title says short and sweet.

First the short. Durex condom commercial. Wrap it up.

The Sweet. Lauryn HIll off the Love Jones Soundtrack ‘The Sweetest Thing’

Enjoy your Wednesday.
Wrap it up B!

As we crawl ever closer to that fateful Friday night with forecasts predicting smashed faces and torn calf muscles (I know I know, sounds amazing right?), I give you ladies some goodies from some well known ladies men (is that supposed to be one word?).

First the father of 5, the Newest of Dangers and the Tru3st of Magic, the Mighty Mos Def.

I know since 2000’s Black On Both Sides, many people have hoped for Mos to return to his glory days and once again pair up with the Premiers, Hi-Teks and Ron Carters of the world in hopes of producing another classic soul/hip-hop record.  However, since 2000, he’s decided instead to go progressively left with every release (yes he had a Rock album beFORE Lil Wayne, and yes it was wicked.  And yes, he got some of the best to ever do it on the record – including Doug Wimbish who’s not only a member of the legendary Living Color, but probably best known for his bass work on Grandmaster Flash’s ‘The Message’), and although some may not like where he’s headed, you gotta respect a man for stickin to his guns.

Anyways, this is apparently his 2nd single off the (yet to receive a release date) Ecstatic – and me likes…lots. – courtesy of the good people at IllRoots.

Mos Def – Quiet Dog

Next you have another man who’s also known for going left (but not only for his music).

Michael Eugene Archer, a.k.a. D’Angelo has had a rough few years.  From his much publicized arrests to his sudden ‘change’ in appearance, it seemed as though he was well on his way to Axl Rose’dom and that there would be no more of this Yoda (a term used by the Soulquarians for the ‘Chosen Ones’).  However, recent reports from the Roots’ ?uestlove says that D’Angelo has not only pulled himself back off the ground, but is back in shape, in good spirits and has been recording with Q-Tip, Raphael Saadiq, Pino Palladino, Roy Hargrove, James Poyser and pretty much everyone else that helped to make the Musical Bible we know as Voodoo. Anyways…there’s always a chance that D’ will fall back into his Sly Stone routine again, but with the release of a new single (available on iTunes), new websites and a new deal with Clive Davis on J Records, I feel optimistic.

So to tide you over until then…a goodie ?uestlove leaked awhile ago.  You may have heard it, but just in case….here it is.

D’Angelo – Really Love

The show’s in 2 days people.

Capone 10.
King Charles.
And myself (Triple).
It WILL be brought.

HHHT4 – see ya there.
