HHHTroops, lovers and riders,
As with most anything great, we here at High Heels + Hi-Tops are sad to announce the wrap of our beloved time here at WordPress.
Since day one we’ve taken the position of tastemaker seriously and respectfully and hope that you, our loyal readers, have come away with a more enriched palette and a little extra soul in your heart. I know at times we (especially myself) may’ve been a touch heavy handed with the criticism and words, but at the end of the day, the goal was to be honest, not impartial and I hope that’s something you embraced.
However, with all that said, like the beloved Mr. Jordan pictured above, we at HHHT won’t be leaving cyberspace for good, but merely trading uniforms. Due to ever growing responsibilities in all of our lives, we don’t feel its fair to you, the reader, to keep showing up to an un-updated blog as regularly as you have for the past 2 months and thus the reason for our new address on both your favorite time consumer and mine, FACEBOOK.
The launch is July 1st, 2010. Check back then for the address.
Thank you for your support everyone, and see you on Facebook.
Be well world.
On some Canadian shit. The crew was on some Can-con bizniz last weekend, and having been freshly returned from the T-dot, its only fitting that for this Thursday I re-acquaint you with the elder statesman of Canadian Hip hop. Maestro Fresh Wes.
First album. A classic. Let your backbone slide is still the top selling Canadian hip hop single, and the album Symphony In Effect is the still the top selling hip hop album with 190,000 copies sold. Almost double platinum. Maestro aint no joke. He had solid beats and he could rhyme. He had the dancers and the charisma. Some might say he was Canada’s equilvalent Big Daddy Kane.
Check the videos:
Let Your Backbone Slide. The DOPE STATE jackets were pretty dope.
The 2nd single from that album was ‘Drop The Needle. Maestro came strong.
His 2nd Album was the Black Tie Affair.
Not nearly as good as the first album, but it did have this awesome cut. ‘Conductin Thangs’. I still play this one. Its gets people jumping.
He kinda fell off after this album. He worked with Showbiz & AG (to be discussed on another Thursday) on his next album called ‘Nah dis kid can’t be from Canada’. Wack title. Wack album. I prefer to remember the Maestro of old in all his tuxedo suited glory. Please enjoy.
Now on to whats good.
TONIGHT AT PLUSH
TITTSWORTH BROKE THESE DAYS TOUR!
My spidey sense is tingling……somethings going down.

On to other things. Shouts to everyone who came out this weekend to rock with us. The rep grows bigger with each party and I can’t wait til were rocking in the summer. It was a lovely weekend starting things off in Taipei, representing lovely as usual. The crackatologist named Joey blessed us with the Friday visuals. Here ya go…
We gotta THANK everyone who came out and made HHHT5 in Khaosiung as wild as it was. Furry booted dancers, young and old wilin out(some very old!). Pics soon come. Look out for Volume 6 soon. And those out of town in Taichung and Khaosiung we’re coming back!!!

Hi-Tops. I like’em. Maybe you do too.
Carlone put you guys on the Air Yeezy’s last week. And well, chances of you getting a pair are about equal to MC Hot Dog kickin some knowledge. F’REAL f’real.
So in other words, it ain’t happenin (at least not without you forfeiting half your unborn child’s college fund).
And as you sulk about the Kanye’s here’s some more fodder for your woes. Foot Fantasies designed/inspired by dope peoples.
Eminem Discussing his upcoming Jordan’s
They look doooooooooope.
If you never hit up the De La Dunks that came out ’05/’06 (see LEO37’s feet at the next 2 HHHT events) here’s your chance to cop the next De La Dunk.
With the release of their new disc this year entitled ‘You’re Welcome’ which also includes a 20th anniversary remake of ‘3 Feet High & Rising’ De La have said that they will be releasing a new shoe to go along with the album.
The images of the kicks below (inspired by their 6th album, A.O.I. Bionix) are rumored to be the next kicks but many message boards are claiming these are decoys.
Either way…here they is.
Dope Obama Kicks.
One of’em might be real, the other, homemade. Either way…very dope.
(I really really wish there were more pics of the one on the left. Damn!)

As in 2 days left!! Im gonna take a bite out of Triple’s steez here for the ladies. Seeing as how we have 2 days left ’til HHHT Vol.2 Backroom madness @ Deep Passion this Friday, just in case you don’t know. Its only fitting that you get blessed with a couple (times 2) great duets.
First off we’re going back to the classics, Marvin Gaye featuring Tammi Terrell. With ‘Your all I need to get by’
Now if your digging the song, I got it for your ipod or iphone right here
As a bonus, Im sure most of you are more familiar with the Method Man & Mary J version of this song. When this came out a bunch of dudes starting calling their girls ‘Shorty’ and ‘Boo’. Meth’s swag is pretty mean in this video too. I’m sure it inspired some thug ambitions in many a young rider at the time.
Need it for the ipod. Here ya go
On to other inspirational things. When D’angelo (pronounced Dee-Angelo, for those who don’t know) first dropped. His album definitely inspired the R&B thug in most of us. A dude with corn rows singing all pretty and shit?!! Yeah word. His first album Brown Sugar is great and his 2nd LP ‘Voodoo’ produced by the Soulquarians has glimpses of genius on it. It was also the last album he released before getting fat and going a little crazy.
Anyways D’ang tapped DJ Premier for a remix for his ode to the fairer sex. Here’s the vid featuring AZ on the mic and a few beautiful ladies for eye candy. Joi (Big Gipp from Goodie Mob’s wife), Faith Evans (Biggie’s ex) and Erykah Badu when she had just jumped on the scene and was with Andre 3000, before moving on to Common and now she’s with Jay Electronica. She definitely got some magic between her thighs!!!
Its hard to only post 2 duets, but while on the topic of D’angelo duets, here is one that he did on the classic Lauryn Hill album ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’
2 days left til the party. Tell a friend!!
Shouts to the greatest series EVER!
First off, I can’t believe my homey Triple beat me to the first Tuesday post, which is all good, because it is hustle season. DIPSET! DIPSET!
On to the goods, 88-Keys is a producer known more for slangin beats to the likes of Kanye, Common, Scarface, Mos Def and Kweli. He dropped his first solo album entitled ‘The Death of Adam’ which is a concept album about the perils of the playalistic lifestyle.
Now he has a bunch of guest appearances on the album including Kanye, Redman and Phonte from Little Brother. Some of the track names alone had me grinning like ‘Nice Guys Finish Last’, ‘Close Call’, ‘The Burning Bush’ and ‘No. I Said I LIKED You!’ This shit is pretty funny.
Anyways, here’s the Phonte track Close Call
Now the internet world has been waiting on some more leaked tracks from Kanyeezy. I got my hands on this yesterday. Haha. Its pretty dope. Kanye feat Young Jeezy Amazing
And the news you’ve been waiting for…..
