Couple new jams from Slaughterhouse’s East Coast contingent.
This jam from Jumpoff Joe Beezy is off an upcoming mixtape with producer J. Cardim, who although isn’t a household name yet, has already produced for the likes of Kweli, Wayne, Luda, Akon and Jean Grae, just to name a few and he seems to be picking up steam. Budden does his thing as usual. Sideways shots and all.
Meanwhile, this jam from Joell is off his upcoming ‘Best of Both Worlds’esque mixtape with singer Novel. So far I’ve heard 2 tracks and they’ve both been pretty dope. The first one, if you remember references the Al Green tune ‘Call Me’ and I’m always cool with Al Green references. Anyway, this jam right here is just as funky as the last and Joell is just someone you don’t wanna play with. Get it:
I love Tanya Morgan, I really do.
I just wish they picked/made better beats. They suffer from the same problem that beasts like Kurupt and Eminem do which is essentially having no filter for beats. And maybe that’s how they wanna be portrayed, but hey if that’s the case all the power to’em. I just love it though when they decide to jump on something nice. Von Pea murders this.
I’M LIKE CHE GUEVARA WITH BLING ON, I’M COMPLEX.
From the makers of those hella entertaining soundboards that CAP put up awhile back. I give you 7 PAGES of Jay-Z subliminal disses. Pure entertainment. Click Pic.
If you’re a regular of this blog, then chances are you’re into some raw-@$$-ness.
In previous posts the names of M.O.P. (obviously), as well as the members of the Slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and Royce Da 5’9″) have all come up and generally under a positive light.
Well, they’re alllll back again…….and this time…….together.
Having collaborated for the upcoming Slaughterhouse album, here’s some footage of them in studio just finishing the track alongside DJ Premier and Showbiz (of D.I.T.C.) as well as the Freebie. Rawness indeed.
Also, since we’re on the topic of Slaughterhouse. Joell Ortiz, who most of you still know as the guy Dre signed to Aftermath (only to ask for his release shortly after) is preparing to release a documentary about his career thus far. This is the first I’ve really heard or seen anything from it and it looks kinda interesting or it could be the trailer covered it all, either way, here it is.
And finally, as the subject of this post is ‘Pair Up’s, as in dope collabs and what not. I was recently made privy to this info that definitely qualifies under such a topic.
Buzz Aldrin. Yes, the 2nd man on the Moon Buzz Aldrin revealed recently to the New York Times that he in fact just finished collabing with the Doggfather himself, big Snoop Dogg for Will Ferrell‘s www.funnyordie.com. When asked if he actually sang in the video, Buzz replied: “I relate. It’s not singing, it’s rapping.”

That’s Monday people.
Oooooh…we’re soooo close. I can smell it….and it smells like Deliciousnessess.
Tomorrow IS HHHT3:Taichung Edition…and to prepare, I’ve got a ton more goodies to keep your head bopulatin til tomorrow even’n.
Let us begin with Jumpoff Joe Beezy.
As I previously posted around NYE’ish, I’m a fan of Joe Budden: A smart dude with ridiculous 16’s (although he tends to rock 24’s or 32’s). He’s been receiving many commends for his recent display of logic and common sense, and well, he’s back with some more…this time kickin it towards DJ Vlad on Shade 45’s Lip Service:
And just for good measure, a tune off Budden’s latest Halfway House. The album’s not great, but this is a nice tune.
Joe Budden – Sidetracked
And well, as anyone on the team can vouch, I’m a large Dilla fan. And although I’m usually really eager to embrace all Dilla related products, since his passing, there have been a slew of people getting on Dilla beats that I don’t readily assume would have had the opportunity had he not fallen ill.
The following was another potential case. I’m not Termanology’s biggest fan, and originally wasn’t going to post this, but after a quick run through…the beats are dope, there are some great guestspots and quite frankly, he does a pretty decent job (I guess there’s a reason why he’s Primo co-signed — see previous post). Anyways…some definite Bopulatin on this…nice to have on while you’re workin on stuff….

And finally, in case you wanted to just hear some straight up, dope ass, raw ass Dilla. I give you some more unreleased ish. This time, his collabo with (then Roc-A-Fella Freshman) Kanye West.

Gangstas and Gangsterettes,
I bring you news of G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time) sightings.
First off….something from the most recent person to claim the title of G.O.A.T., Li’l Weezy Wee gettin his Don LaFontaine on for Gatorade’s new ad campaign. Maybe instead of Sprite, Wayne’ll start mixing his codeine with Gatorade now.
Second…something from Weezy Goldberg’s on-again/off-again Idol (depending on Sizzurp intake) paired with the G.O.A.T. from another world.
I’m a huge fan of both these guys, but this idea is starting to get tired for me. However, I’ve yet to listen to this so there’s always a chance for dopeness.
Jay-Z vs. Radiohead = Jaydiohead (Click Flick for DL)
…And lastly, the G.O.A.T. argument.
No, it’s not Marcus and I jousting over Dre vs. Dilla, or D’Angelo’s greatness….nono….some pure entertainment as Charles Hamilton, Joe Budden, Royce Da 5’9″, DJ Enuff and a slew of entourage go at it over who the G.O.A.T. is.
I always loved these arguments.
- HHHT3: NEXT SATURDAY, Jan. 10th in Taichung @ Light Lounge.
- HHHT4: Friday, Jan. 16th in Taipei @ 1981 Bar.
- HHHT5: Saturday, Jan. 17th in Kaohsiung @ The Pig & Whistle.
Have a great Saturday people.
1. …to see people like Joe Budden succeed.
To all rappers and true lovers of Hip-Hop, if you’ve had the privilege of following Buddens, you’ll know that he’s serious.
After one big tune and a poorly received debut on Def Jam, Joe seemed destined to travel the path of the Mike Jones’ and Yung Joc’s of the Rap world: one big single and then a career spent trying to regain that success. However, Joe showed his resilience and integrity and accepted the position he was in. Instead of trying to come back with another Pump It Up, he went left and put out something that HE wanted to put out: the Mood Muzik Mixtape Series. A raw, unrelenting display of pure, unadulterated, good ol’ fashioned Hip-Hop that put Joe amongst the lyrical giants. It brought Joe back into the eye of both the underground and online hip-hop communities and more importantly, shed his ‘Pump It Up’ skin.
Now, I’m not trying to paint him as the savior or anything like that. Joe has his weakness, and it’s one he shares with Jadakiss, Kurupt, Canibus, Ras Kass and Eminem: Excellent rappers who can’t pick beats if their life depended on it. But even still, I’d rather hear a Joe Budden verse on your little brothers Garage Band beat over Mims on a Just Blaze banger.
Anyways…to my point….
….actually I’ll just let Jay Smooth break it down for you.
