It’s OUT! Go get you some.
They’re angry and I love it.
Is Ghost gettin at T.I.? That’d be a fun one.
Everything up to this point has been extremely on-point and this new re-up of Wu-life (Ghostdeini, OB4CL2, Blackout!2) has certainly been welcome. Now with the first official single and a gangload of excellent art direction, this might just make moves!
That being said, not sure why they decided to go with this — not hating but I would’ve gone with one of the other joints — but either way, I still appreciate.
This is the 3rd joint I’ve heard off Red‘s upcoming Reggie and I gotta say, 2 out of the 3 joints have been super hype, this one included.
With new Red, Luda and that Wu-Tang Massacre ish, I’m feelin good about 2010.
After an absolutely amazing night out in Taipei with these fellas, I’m spent. Like, I’m talkin ‘2 notches away from braindead’ spent. So, in lieu of said circumstances, I bring you Movie Day here at HHHT.
2 TURNTABLES AND A MICROPHONE: THE LIFE AND DEATH OF JAM MASTER JAY (Trailer)
WU-TANG MASSACRE – Part 3
BLAKROC – EPISODE #11 Feat. RAEKWON
And finally, some G.O.O.D. music treats for your lazy Sunday.
I’m gonna go watch the Tyson documentary again.
Enjoy the day.
When I first did the original ‘Pair Up’ blog, I never meant to continue it as any sort of ongoing series within the HHHT realm. However, after seeing the rash of recent pair-ups and duets that definitely deserve their honorable mentions, I say, let’s roll with this and see if there’s another Black Star or a Ghost & Rae or a Omarion & Bow Wow in the making.
Wait a minute…..scratch that last one….
Who likes acronyyyyms? D.I.T.C.? That’s always been a favorite of mine. How bout we get a little deeper into it and break out A.G. and O.C.
Yessir. You heard me right. East Coast legends Omar Credle and Andre the Giant, better known as O.C. & A.G. have gone ahead and finally put this classic D.I.T.C. what if? scenario to bed and are slated to release THE OASIS November 24th on Nature Sounds (home of Masta Killa, the Ghost & DOOM project, and oodles more).
If this tune is any indication of how the album’ll turn out, I’m there. I swear to you, neither of them have even come close to losing a step and believe me when I say A.G. keeps getting better and better and better…(See his guest appearance on Dabrye‘s Two/Three)
It’s coming sooooon.
As I reported a couple months ago, Stones Throw frontliners Madlib & Guilty Simpson will be teaming up to release the highly anticipated O.J. Simpson record either last quarter ’09 or first quarter ’10. Madlib, who has cemented the fact that he has one of the best batting averages for beats ever, matched with Guilty, who’s punchline onslaught can only be compared to an E. Honda attack, will undoubtedly result in something so raw it would be O.D.B. approved. Don’t believe me? Check the freebee. GOOD GAWD I love these guys.
FIF & MAC
Don’t really need to write all that much about this. Beans is goin at Jay and 50‘s making sure he’s right in the middle of it…as usual.
If Jay eventually decides to respond though, this’ll get hella entertaining. Beans is not only a beast, but this could get extremely personal extremely quick. Do I smell a Pay-Per-View? Y’know 50 probably already has it in the works.
And as an added treat, Part 2 of the Wu-Massacre trailers. Enjoy.
I have a backlog of amazing stuff I wanna throw up so don’t be alarmed if I just randomly start posting MPFrees.
Be well world.
Enjoy the weekend.
HHHTime is near,
If you’ve been following the updates at all, then chances are you’ve been following the webisodes from the amazing BlakRoc project that’s due out in a matter of weeks. And on a day where I have less than 15 minutes to get a new piece up, how bout I get you caught up on all the videos and we call it even. Deal? Word up.
#5 Feat. NIKKI WRAY & JIM JONES
#6 Feat. NOE
#7 Feat. Q-TIP! (Q-Tip can knock you out too?!?)
#8 Feat. BILLY DANZE (FFFIIIIIREEEE!)
And I guess this wouldn’t be a true HHHT post without at least one treat. A new unreleased track from a man who supposedly will also be featured on the BlakRoc album, there’ll never be another like him….
It’s GHOSTFACE DAY!
To commemorate the release of Ghost-Deini – Ghostface Killah’s greatest hits, I felt it only appropriate to dice it up with some of my all-time favorite Ghostface cuts.
No more talking. Let’s begin.
Daytona 500 Feat. Raekwon
Camay Feat. Raekwon & Cappadonna
Cherchez La Ghost Feat. U-God
Motherless Child Feat. Raekwon
Apollo Kids Feat. Raekwon
Run Feat. Jadakiss & Comp
And I really could go on and on….but I’ll end with this…one of the best Ghostface interviews EVER!
In 6 days…the name sake of this blog returns. **GUNFINGER IN THE AIR!!! PULL IT!!! PULL IT!!!**
And to commemorate, I thought I’d post 6 classic (and not-so classic) Posse Cuts all featuring 6 artists.
In no particular order…
1. De La Soul Feat. Q-Tip, the Jungle Brothers & Monie Love – Buddy Remix
Yes, I know, Queen Latifah sings backup on it, but it’s only for 4 bars, so it doesn’t deserve a principal credit. Also, Phife was on the original remix, but if I’m not mistaken, was taken out of the video because his verse was too explicit. Anyways…possibly the first posse cut ever where everyone in the video actually seem like friends.
2. Rascalz Feat. Kardinal Offishall, Choclair, Thrust & Checkmate – Northern Touch
If you’re a Canadian, you know how much this track meant to Canadian morale. The biggest thing since Maestro’s (f.k.a. Maestro Fresh Wes) – Let Your Backbone Slide. The Rascalz before they started sucking, Choclair when he didn’t suck as much and Kardinal before he was a Konvict…
3. Three 6 Mafia Feat. Young Buck, 8 Ball & MJG – Stay Fly
The last Three 6 Mafia single with Crunchy Black still part of the crew. This tune is enormous and did tremendous things for the South’s mainstream reputation of only putting out stripper music. Many people have converted on the strength of this song alone.
4. Wu-Tang Clan (RZA, U-God, Masta Killa, Ghostface, Cappadonna & Inspectah Deck) – Careful (Click, Click)
In my opinion, one of the Wu’s most highly slept-on tunes/videos. Menacing, grizzly basstones, Philip Glass’esque tinklings, a vomit green wash, great camera work and Dwayne Wayne from a Different World…what more do you want!?! This is pure, unadulterated Wu-Tang.
5. Hieroglyphics – You Never Knew
Call them the Wu-Tang of the West. Or call Wu-Tang the Hiero of the East. Either way, although Hiero never achieved the same star-status, much like Wu-Tang, Hiero (Del, Souls of Mischief, Pep Love, Casual) completely changed the way emcees both wrote and delivered. Lyrically beasts, Hiero has, and continue to (see Casual and Del’s latest work) pioneer some of the newest and most exciting cadences in music. If you never knew…now you do.
6. New Edition – Hit Me Off
And last, but certainly not least…Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mikey, Johnny and Ralph. New Edition. Nuff said.
In May 1994, the world of hip-hop and late-night TV suffered an ‘L’ that they have yet to recover from.
Before Magic Johnson had his (thankfully) short run on late night TV and before Vibe had their straight-to-the-can blip of a talk show, we had the Arsenio Hall show. A show where (contrary to what many of my classmates growing up thought was just some corny talk show where the guy from ‘Coming to America’ came out and barked) I, and many other viewers were able to regularly tune in to see two of our favorite things on one show: Good Ass Rap and Wrestlers.
And although, the host (and in-turn, the show), is well-known for stepping on the toes of my favorite group of all time (*see Subject heading), his contribution helped to propel and upgrade the careers of several underground legends into Hip Hop Icons. So for those that don’t have a clue as to what I’m talkin about….
Some Good Ass Rap and Wrestlers.
